		<description>Well, George, don't forget that AIS (if you also get a transmitter, which I'd recommend) helps other ships to see you as AIS is mandatory for all ships over 300GRT.  In my opinion, that's the main feature for smaller craft having it.

And, of course, being in the middle of the ocean and see the other ship's name and heading is fun, too!</description>
